Langtang Gosainkunda Trek

Langtang Gosainkunda Trek

Langtang Region places itself at the close proximity to the capital city of Kathmandu. In fact, Langtang is the nearest trekking region from Kathmandu. Thus it happens to be the most easily accessible trekking region. Since the trail will be less challenging, it demands the minimal effort from us and in return offers plethora of vista into the realms of nature that will remain embedded in our heart forever.
Indulging in the beauty of Langtang Valley, we will proceed to the venerated lake of Gosainkunda where Lord Shiva, the destroyer god is believed to be slumbering in the chilling water after gulping down the lethal Kalkut poison to save the world from being annihilated. Gosainkunda Lake is believed to have been manifested by Lord Shiva as he strike the ground with his trident.
Pilgrims of several religious faith including Hindus, Buddhist and Shamans gather around the Gosainkunda Lake during Janai Purnima which falls each year in the full moon of Bhadra that coincides with the English month of August. Taking bath in the freezing water of Gosainkunda Lake on Janai Purnima is believed to cleanse the sin committed in the lifetime.
Our trekking experts have formulated 18days ‘Langtang Gosainkunda Trek’ package that gets triggered with the 9hour drive through the slithering road to Syabrubesi from where the spectacular trekking experience initiates as we walk across Lama Hotel to pretty and culturally rich Langtang Village. Paying respect to Kyangjin Gompa Monastery, we will progress throughSing Gompa Monastery to Gosainkunda where we will take a religious bath prior to heading through Gopte and other highland villages of Helambu to Melamchipul from where we will drive back to Kathmandu.
